Summer Fun

You know when summer is truly here in the UK, when you get Wimbledon and the Ashes on TV, and they keep having to stop play do allow for the odd "rain shower".  It's a bit like us - you know when summer has arrived when you look around the airfield and see every form of free flying, all lining up, waiting to take to the skies.

All our disciplines in flying are having a great year so far. People seem even more keen, in these times, to get out and have some fun learning something new and exciting, and to gain a new view of the world. Because of their work and family commitments, they want to learn to fly quickly and as safely as possible. When we combine that with the great summer we are having, it explains why we are having such a good time out on the field at Darley Moor. There will always be days we cannot fly due to the weather, (if anyone out there does know of a place we could teach 365 days of the year, do let me know).

There is still loads of summer left and we have 4 more people to say a big well done to:

Duncan Nash and Adrian Branch - CPC hang gliding Aerotow; Nigel Laurie - another person who travelled all the way from Scotland - CPC power Paragliding; and Andrew Roberts CPC paragliding winch.

There are new students joining us everyday for paragliding.  We are running the launch gate with more than 6 students every day, with everyone getting 6-10 flights, giving them loads of valuable air-time. The aerotow has seen 2 new students join us already this month and the microlights both fixed wing and flex wing are busy. Our instructors are regularly doing between 4 to 6 hours of training a day.

So all in all we are very happy with the season so far.  There's still loads of summer left; as I recall, in recent years, it seems to stay warm till the end of October. So if you want to join in the fun, get booked in and let's go flying!

Regards
Andy Snell.
