Wishing everyone a great 2010

All of us at Airways Airsports would like to wish you a happy 2010 and hope that your flying dreams and aspirations will come true in the forthcoming year.

We have been planning for the future by looking at what we needed in the past, and what you have asked for.

2009 may be over, but I will remember it as such a great year  With all the news and newspapers talking about the economic down turn, I think people just wanted something positive to focus on.  That must have been what drove seventy of you in 2009 to complete a whole course of flying tuition - and that was paragliding alone.

My blog at the beginning of the year told you that if you got in early and put up with the cold, you would have a great flying season...... and they have.  Some of them have had over 50hours flying in their first year.  So if you are thinking of learning, get started early for the great season ahead...

As for our plans for the future, we have  wanted better hangarage for sometime, and that’s what we are concentrating on now.  Hopefully by Easter we will have our new hangers and a lot more space, not only for our training aircraft, but also for all the people that want to come and enjoy the Airpark environment.

We have also opened Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube pages and our first video has already had over 1400 hits. You can join us as a fan on Facebook so we can keep you up to date with events and videos. And we would love to hear how you are doing out there in the big wide world of flying, so please "post away".  You can join us on Twitter (but I just don’t get the Twitter thing).

We also have a newcomer to Airways Airsports for 2010. Lawrie Noctor has joined us from the Isle of Wight for the year. He is aviation mad & will be our winch operator for the season, and we will also be making loads of different videos including product reviews and testing. I have also been in talks with someone who could be a very important employee for 2010 but will only inform you once the final details have been sorted.

Let’s make 2010 an even better year, with the harsh winter behind us soon. I know this season is going to be a good one. So let’s get going in 2010 - get booked in and let’s go flying.

See you soon, from the whole crew at Airways Airsports.
