Sunshine and Flying Time.
The first of March gave us just what we needed to start another month of flying at the airpark. With the drizzle clearing quickly we soon felt the first effects of the sun for this year. Cumulus clouds soon started to build and gave all in the air a wonderful sight.
Chas was in training on our C42 microlight and had nearly four hours of teaching by the end of the day. For Tom Boyte, it was his second lesson. Tom is trying to do an hour each week to work towards his NPPL(M). He said he has really enjoyed his first two lessons, which of course is the most important thing – enjoying the great experience of learning to fly.
Richard was teaching in our Quantum flexwing microlight and flying with Kevin to help convert him on to his GT450.
For me, I had a tandem hang glide with Steve. We popped off the tow at three thousand feet and flew down round the clouds. He loved it that much that he insisted that Luke, his stepson who had only come to watch, jump in and have a go. He, too, was blown away by the way we could move around the sky, looking at our shadow dancing on the clouds as we passed over them. For us the smiles we leave on their faces are all the thanks we need.
Well, I hope that the 1st of the month reflects how things will continue in March. The next weather window looks as early as Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
Let’s do it. Book in and let’s fly.
