Buzzing

There has been a real buzz about the airpark this week, and those who chose it to learn to fly would not have realised during those cold winter nights, what a great choice they had made. With the first real high pressure of 2009 over us, there was flying for 7 days in a row - what a great achievement for the middle of March!

It has been so good to teach and fly every discipline in aviation this week.  Those who have been at the airpark over the past seven days have had some great fun learning to fly.

Richard Tang joined us on the 15th to start on paramotors and by the 19th he had completed his tasks and I signed him off - well done Richard.  He had a fab time flying our Bailey four-stroke paramotor, combined with the Ozone Roadster wing, and managed some top cross country flying.....just waiting for the exam results now.

Richard Preston completed his CPC paragliding course on Tuesday and is now very keen to get out on the hills for some summer soaring.  A big “well done“ to Richard - keep the ground handling practice up, you can never do enough.

We also had three new students starting their Club Pilot paragliding course and the high pressure over us gave them a great chance to push well in to the elementary stage of flying.

Once again our Aeros C42 was out every day, and the Quatum flexing microlight jumped between teaching and aerotowing hang gliders. So all our toys were out and it was so good to see this great spell of weather being put to such good use by all the pilots.

When will it be flyable again? There is a now a strong low pressure pushing in for a few days to replace the high, but I hope that by the weekend it will have moved on to let the High out in the Atlantic move in.
