Aerotow for Existing Pilots
Learning to aerotow your hang glider adds annother string to your bow, which means you get more opportunities to get in the air more often. For many hang glider pilots it has changed the way they approach the sport. This is especially true for qualified but less experienced pilots who no longer need to have the BHPA Pilot rating to start their aerotow conversion.
Thanks to tandem tuition we can take a hang glider pilot at any level and start teaching them to aerotow immediately.
For Pilot rated flyers or people with many hours it's even easier as our conversion course only takes 7 -10 flights over a couple of days.
If you are suitably experienced your first aerotow will be tandem with one of our instructors. If you are both happy then you go solo with one on one tuition from your instructor who will probably be in the tug aircraft watching your every move. After a minimum of six good tows you are ready to be signed off.
For qualified HG pilots with less experience (perhaps you learnt on the hill a few years ago or got part way through a course) we apply the exactly the same principle but simply increase the number of tandems before you go solo.
If you need specialist tuition; e.g. some pilots who are off to comps need to learn to aerotow with foot take off, then we offer tuition at a day rate to get you the skills you need.
Whatever you want we'll try and help.
We can't say it better than the guys who have been and tried us out ,so CLICK HERE to read an article written by some boys from dahn Sarth who came to give aerotow a try.
