As you sit at home, looking out of your window on these cold days and dark nights, you probably think about the achievements of last year, and dream of what will be in the forthcoming season. But then do you think, "to achieve these plans, I need help and encouragement and a bit of coaching"? If so, how about this? |

For the past two years, in April, we have been packing the Airways Airsports van, hooking up the winch and trundling off to Norfolk Hang gliding and Paragliding Club to train up new members. Mark Riches contacted us again in the summer and was keen for Airways to come back in September as he had more people keen to join them. |

Judy and Andy,
A million thanks for a constructive course in France, full of friendliness, empowerment, inspiration and optimism. Instructors and students stayed in the same place and cooked for each other - how often is that! I am particularly grateful for your perseverance to indulge us in the unforgetable Chabre flying experience just minutes before the sunset!
Feel free to charge me extra for the non-stop questions that failed to explode you. Will contact you next month for more flying (at Mam Tor)

You know when summer is truly here in the UK, when you get Wimbledon and the Ashes on TV, and they keep having to stop play do allow for the odd "rain shower". It's a bit like us - you know when summer has arrived when you look around the airfield and see every form of free flying, all lining up, waiting to take to the skies. |

I must apologise straight away for the lack of Blog postings in the past month. This is not due to a lack of news, but the opposite. We have simply been grabbing every opportunity we can to fly (as anyone who has ever learnt to fly with us would confirm). |

With the weather not being at its best over the past couple of weeks, we have all been itching to get out there and do some flying, and the bank holiday weekend allowed us to do just that. Kevin Grayson excelled himself - in his first season of microlight flying, he went out and won the Ultra-light Single Seat Rally. |

April, without doubt, has been an awesome month for teaching flying. It all started on the 1st of the month, and we have had twenty three days of training out of thirty, this month alone. That has given us nineteen paraglider Club Pilots signed off, five hang glider Club Pilots signed off and four paramotor Club Pilots and Pilot ratings. |

The weeks of flyable weather this year have seen an ever expanding group of new pilots keen to migrate to the hills. |

I have just got in from soaring the XT16 and the Bullet08 14 in 30mph winds over Mam Tor in the Peaks with Paul Allmark – what a gas! |

As I have said in many of my blogs before: I thought this year was going to be a good one. Well, the start of spring has been the best I have known in my teaching career.
